Hey folks... Just decided to throw myself at the mercy of the vicious lions that give great advice around here ;-)

I've been playing around with the defaults on a Typo theme that's designed to... Well... Encourage you to play around with the defaults :-) Point being, let me know if it looks good or if stuff is in dire need of changing. The pages worth looking at are probably the main page and the page for a single article. I'm not entirely certain that there are other pages, to be honest :-P

I'm also considering making the layout slightly more fluid -- namely, giving the container a width of 80%, the content area a width of 75%, and the sidebar a width of 20%. What think ye? (Or at least those of you who have the Web Developer Toolbar and can easily add those changes and have a look-see.)

    Thanks in advance; I promise I won't cry :-P

Looks nice and simple ... I like it!

The only thing is that little search box thingy ... not very clear was to what it is. May add a little "Search" or something on top of that

    Otherwise ... good stuff.

You know, I thought the exact same thing. In fact, I thought `I'll be cool! I'll stick a little greyed out (Search) inside the input box!' Alas, if I do that, the as-you-type search kicks in (and obviously returns no results) :-(

Ah well, I'll probably add a label, yeah.

EDIT: Ok, I added a little search label.

That's better ... but why is it indented like that? Looks a bit weird. Line it up like the other title below

Hmm... It seems that, if I align it with the titles below, I should make it an h3, too... No?

Not necessarily ... looks ok with a smaller font.

This site needs a little color. I like minimalistic sites, but they still need some color to break up the monotony.

I'd like to see that search box raised up above the grey bottom border under the header div.

I don't like the graphic at the bottom of the page.

In general, I tend to agree with you, but I rather liked it with the little color there is (and there is color, mind you, if only in the links and the subtitle; most headers are also colored, though they're very dark colors). What would you recommend, though?

Unfortunately that would disrupt continuity with the search results, especially so when doing it as-you-type, since they show up right underneath the search box.

Really? I actually liked it. Is there anything in particular, or does it just not strike your fancy? i.e., is it placement, size, or just general not-wanting-it-to-be-thereness? :-)

I agree with James, I don't like the graphic at the bottom, it edges look sloppy, if the edges were smoother, I think I would like it more.

One way you could add color, is by colorizing the quotation bars.
