I made this layout yesterday for my site. It is completely handcoded CSS and HTML. No frames or tables. The boxes on the right will hold images once I get some content.

The site is going to be a "blog" for me and a few of my friends. Obviously, I haven't decided on a name yet, hence the "site name" logo.

    Tell me what you think.

Could def use some color. It's going to really look funny when the images are on the right hand side... unless they're going to be as dark as the rest of the layout.

The contrast between the black/pink is good, but needs more to the layout.

I made a few changes. I made the container wider, I added the text under the right aligned pictures, I got rid of the border on the images, and I added some more example posts.

I still need to make a footer, but I'm going to bed now.

I quite like it. I agree, more colour would be good but I'm sure that'll come once the images on the right hand side are added.

Maybe the gamma on my monitor is off, but I can hardly read anything. Too dark.

I like the colors just the way they are actually ... the only thing I would change is the color of the content ... it's very hard to read ... I tried with #787878 and it looks much better more readable.

    Otherwise ... good stuff!

Codewise tho ... you might wanna validate You are using an XHTML doctype but your code is full of deprecated elements and attributes :dead:

Thanks for commenting, guys. I made the text a little brighter and got rid of some of the errors in the code.

I think there will be plenty of color once I get some content. I think I will make the images on the right B+W, then on hover they will be in color.

Errors 1 through 8 are because you are using an ID more than once ... which you can't. Convert those ID to CLASS and you'll be fine.

    Error 9 and 10 well ... <center> is a deprecated element :dead:

Thanks, I didn't know you couldn't use ID more than once. All the code is valid now.
