i don't like the links when the text is eaten up by the black highlight

I think it's very original, really forgetting that it's a website at all and exploring entirely new ways of structuring pages for the web, starting with the proportions (vertical rather than horizontal). Unfortunately, the page barely fits on 1024x 768. The link hovers are a really cool treatment, although you can't see what you're hovering over unless you hover off it again. The graphics are unique, making the page appear like an old newspaper. Good work overall. I give the site a 10 for uniqueness. Unfortunately, the usability is extremely low, which means it's not a site I would revisit often.
I agree with Transio - the site is unique, but hard to use. I like the tall format, but on all of the pages, you never use the full height of the page, meaning you could chop the height down a little. Finding links on the site is also hard, because they aren't underlined or differernt from any of the other text. So after moving your mouse over all of the text top find a link, you have to move your mouse off the link because the mouseover state makes the link invisible.
I like the graphics and the layout of the site, I just think it needs to be more user friendly now.![]()
actually i have changed my mind, i think the black highlights work really well![]()

OK, I just clicked on your LOW version of the site, and it's better. The Low and High I associated with low/high bandwidth, but the "High" site didn't seem like it was too much of a graphics pig. Instead of Low and High, you could put "Small" and "Large" resolutions, or to take it one step further, you could get rid of the splash page (cause they are just another hurdle visitors need to jump through) and write a javascript that will load the appropriate size page depending on the user's detected resolution.
i agree with sluffdaddy. It shouldnt be low/high, it maust be small and large.![]()
I love the work on the graphics page, though. You have a really cool unique style![]()
