Okay, this project was only born because I was bored in math class one day while people were retaking tests. It's just a template so far. The school's current site is @ http://www.moundsparkacademy.org. What do you think? I've ONLY tested my MPA concept design in Safari and Camino (don't know about IE 6/7). So, does anyone have some useful suggestions? Thanks a lot!

I like it better than the current one, although the left side of the page feels empty like a graphic should be there.

I made the header and the footer of the page fluid, yet I kept the content area fixed so that the text area didn't get too wide. What do you think of this? Would you recommend I just set a % for the width of the content area and also have a min-width and max-width? Thanks a lot!

The whatever-it-is-that's-going-to-attack-me in the bottom left that's fixed overlaps the text if you resize the browser.

I like the current websites use of colors. I don't like the flash or the stupidly deep navigation paths.

If the current site stripped out the flash and created some sensible navigation i think i would prefer it over your reincarnation. Sorry.

    Hello my Twin Cities neighbor,

I find the right navigation on the new version overbearingly blue.

Yeah, I have to say that the only significant problem I see with the current website is the Flash and the nav (also that the message on the left side intrudes into the content area).

Concerning yours, I like how on hover the buttons across the top are connected to the top border, but I think that should also be the case when they're not hovered over. As is usually the case, it'd be nice to have an indicator of what page you're currently on.

Okay, maybe I'm the sour apple on this one. I like the LAYOUT of the current site more than the redesign. However, the navigation/infrastructure of the current site is too deep, and a bit cumbersome, and what's with the color changes?!?

I think the use of photographs are very important to convey the message of the school. These should be incorporated into the new site. The diagonal lines are merely decorative. There are different blues between the navigation on the right and the logo graphic. The logo graphic is pixelated. IE is not ready for pngs yet. If you are going to have content in a fixed width, make sure it's no more than 450 px so it's easier to scan.

I hope I'm not discouraging you. There are a lot of things you've done well in the redesign. The code looks great: nice and clean. It's very legible and it addresses the problems of the original design. I just think it's lacking in visual appeal and does not promote the school as well as the current site.

I have an eye for detail like you'd never believe.
