If you have alot of ideas in your head, draw them out on paper first. Sometimes sitting in front of the computer can be intimidating. When I'm stuck trying to create a new design, I get away from the computer and draw things out on paper. I can't draw for my life, so the paper looks awful, but I know what I'm trying to draw. After I have sketched a few ideas, then I go to the computer and try to create what I have put down.

Oh, lol... I thought he wanted feedback on an existing design... silly me

I'm with spluf on this one... paper sketching is a good way to relieve a block. It's much quicker and easier to "draw out" ideas.

Sometimes it helps to look at sites similar to yours and see if you can get some ideas for the overall feel. Don't steal, though.

I usually fool around in PhotoShop with filters, gradients, adjustment layers and royalty-free pics that have the rough idea of what I'm after, and then clean it up after. Maybe that will help.

When you design anything I think its a very bad practice to sit in front of the computer at first. You get much better ideas from the world around you and just fling things down on paper. Don't worry about Web standards and the rest of it until it actually reaches the screen. Let the creativity flow!!!!

I find that it's fun to play in Photoshop for a while first but each to his own.
