I learnt how to make web sites about 2 years ago and made a simple one for my mum then i stopped making because i didn't have anything to make.
Now i just made a simple site about a concert i went to, im only 17 and haven't studied it anywhere, only from trying out dreamweaver and reading a book.

I reviewed your mom's site. Same with this site. It is plain and it isn't bad for just starting out learning.

Look into purchasing some more advanced books (PHP, CSS) and take your skills to the next level.
Look at some local courses too.

Don't let your age be a factor. Talk to friends, family, relatives, neighbors. See if anyone is looking to put a simple website together.
Go out and find the projects. Charge a very small amount. Once you get more projects behind you and develop your skills, then you can start to look for bigger projects (and make more money).

    Good luck....

If you don't have the motivation then you have gone as far as you can with it......to this point.

To get motivated or inspired I would say go out and look at other music/concert sites. See stuff that you like or you think is cool.
Then go out and create something like it.

Go look at template sites (which I can't believe I'm saying that)......but go out and look at them for a creative look that you like.

You really do need to go out and look at other sites just to get some fresh ideas.
The banner across the top with the name of the page, is just too "not good" for a design.

The colors on the site are good.......but to get inspired you need to see other designs.

I agree with planetgman, age should not be a factor. I can't remember the website, but its like flickr (just as professional) and is was design by a 13 year old.

I think its a good beginning for a new web designer. You should learn how to hand code XHTML, and throw in CSS. I always suggest htmldog.com because it's as simple as it could get. You should learn xhtml and css before getting into other languages such as RoR and php. You should understand when or when not use javascript, but you dont really need to learn it.

I think you got good colors, but you just have to just it right.

here are some webpages that should give you ideas
    1. http://tacoma.somacommunities.org/
    2. http://www.pennylane.pl/index.php
    3. http://cubeclub-chemnitz.de/
    4. http://www.underspray.com/

some of the websites are completely unrelated, but I think it something you should check out. I used cssmania, and it could become your best friend

With my website, I was inspired by a cooking show. So maybe use real life as an example.
