The header seems too simple, it just contains the flag and three links. I like the combination of colors except for the color of the links at the top and bottom. I think it would be nice if it were to be white.
For the header part, you could put there the name of your site "Prague City and Czech Travel Guide" and some images... just like WDF, check out it's header.

Yes, you're right. I just take a while to do what I consider "arty stuff" - and I will change the links, good idea thanks.

flat and simple...apply some CSS, try to improve the design,make it more lively and appealing...

Quite nice so far - I agree you need to make a more interesting header.
My Firefox html verifier is saying "170 errors" which isn't so good. I think you need to have a look at cleaning up your code.
