My client needs a layout for a craft-related website. I've come up with something I think is unique and appropriate for the target audience (primarily females of all ages). Does anyone have any thoughts or constructive criticism on the design? Thanks

I think its clever. But I wanted to mention that I find the font in the main content box is somewhat washed out against the background.

I agree about the font being a bit washed out. I also think that the textures are a bit overdone. I think that if the dotted background wasnt texturized, that it would look better (I can see the seams). Other than that... nice work.

Thanks so much for the great advice so far. I removed the texture from the dots background and made the dots 75% smaller. I also overlayed the dots with a tan color to fade them out a bit. Lastly, I added a more relaxing background to the text so it doesn't give you a headache to look at it. It looks much better!

That's a lot better. Really good.

Not overly sure about the menu tabs though, but apart from that it's really successful.

Not too bad...the logo is bothering me though, but that's just me. It's looking better as I look at it

the logo is good but there is alot of open space around it; especially with the navigation bar. Try centering the logo and moving the navigation bar beneath it and see what it looks like.

Great design, how ever I believe a website should incorporate a standard of color correspondence. I would rather choose a base of 3 colors at the most, of which compliment each other the most and then incorporate only those colors throught the website. I'm getting distracted by the poka dotted background and now that I think about it, I remember that detail a lot more than the fact that there was actually text on the page that I didn't take the time to even read.
Try using http://www.colourlovers.com/ Might help out some =]

    Sincerely,
    Michael C.
