Looks pretty good to me so far, the way you slice it up and add content will be important though. Also, the bear and light fixture seems to be just out there right now, but adding in the content may fix that.

I hope you plan on adding mouseovers to this design. As everyone here probably knows, I love mouseovers. :ichatangel:

Not a bad first draft. My biggest problems are with the banner (too busy) and the logo (hard to read over everything going on behind it... are those smudges intentional?)

It's a good thing for parents most of the time. They'll let you screw stuff up till you're blue in the face to support you and then when you finally figure it out, you can "branch out on your own" (a euphemism for telling your parents where they can go. )

Anyway, about the site...I agree with transio on the "logo" issue. Give it a single-colour or faded background so that the words stand out more. I don't personally find the banner too busy, other than that bear and the light coming out from the top right. You should move that down into the body of your opening page or something like that.

If you're really feeling froggy, but you may want to consider very slowly having the pictures move across the top of the screen in a loop, using either Flash or JScript (I'd recommend the former personally, since it would be a lot easier). Mind you, you'd have to keep it very slow and very subtle so as not to distract the eye too much, but you may find it'd add something.
If I've helped you out in any way, please pay it forward. My wife and I are walking for Autism Speaks. Please donate, and thanks.

If someone helped you out, be sure to "Like" their post and/or help them in kind. The "Like" link is on the bottom right of each post, beside the "Share" link.

nice site, i just want to give u one advise, for the next time. Try not to use so many images cause it is going to increase the downloading time, it took some time for this, u can instead oof using images for the menu in the left, u can rigt it as text and hyperlinks, the problem is just that u'll have to change the font.
