    Hi guys I'm new here!
    Before you click the link, I want you guys to keep in mind that I have no idea what Web Design is... I've never worked with flash, and the only time I worked with HTML is on Myspace! That's how I started kind of getting into it. However, I got a Dreamweaver 2004 MX from my teacher, and I thought I'd try someting out.
    Now, the original layout of the page was very different. It was not centered, meaning my picture was all the way to the top left hand corner, with the menu, because I got this template online, and I edited it. The menu was the black bar, I made it the left side panel and all of that. It's my first time working with web design, never took a class, never did anything else. just myspace.
    If you would pleaes take a look at my website now, and don't be too harsh on me cuz I know ur gonna laugh! However I'd like some helpful tips, because I don't even know how to start by creating a template of my choice, I don't have the graphic design ability to do that.. so anyways.. Thank u so much for looking at it! Any comments are welcome!

    You are missing a key bit of code at the top of your page... you need to define your doctype. For example the top of my web pages contain.

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    Without it some browsers will struggle to properly render your website.

    Download Firefox and have a look at your website. I think you will find that your website isn't being properly displayed.

    Get away from Flash buttons, because, everytime I want to click, it gives me the 'click here to activate this console' button.

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

    First line of code. It is a standard Doctype declaration.

    I know I'm sorry. I messed up the layout and can't get it back on... I'm trying to find a new template that I could use cuz I can't create my own! Sorry for any inconvenience!
