    Hey there,
I've had my head down busy on my new site. Pixelfiction.co.uk

It's a site where authors can put their novels online and readers can buy them and discuss them.

I've written everything from scratch with PHP/MySQL and learnt a lot in doing so.
Please take a look and tell me what you think of how it works.
I'm particularly keen to hear comments on the design as I know there could be improvements (backend code took more attention - hence Beta)

Thanks, and don't be afraid to tell it like it is.

Good idea for a website, I dabble in writing now and again.

I think the style of the website is very appealing, you have chosen a color and stuck with it.

On the main page, I would consider moving the "tell me more" and "we want your feedback" etc down a bit, just to give the introduction room to breath, as it is a busy page and the content on the right perhaps draws your attention away from your welcome message.

With all the responses received from various sources including the couple from here I have been slowly evolving the site and it will continue to evolve.

There's a bit more colour in there now and since everybody everywhere hated the top banner it now sits within the boundaries.

It's still being changed continuously. But that's the whole point of feedback - and I'm loving it.

I really want this site to work so please, send me more comments on what I can do to improve

Generally, I like the website. I think you went too crazy with the lines, so I think that you could keep the lines in some areas, but make some parts just a solid background to make it look cleaner.

I don't like the double nav at the right side of the homepage. You should try making it a single nav to clean things up. I also think that the genres page should more look like the user list page.

Your website in many ways look like answers.yahoo.com. You should check it out to get some ideas.
