Can anybody tell me what the best wa to get good transparency in images. I uses photoshop and the save as web image feature but every time i try to save it out it looks really bad in the browser. Any help would be appreciated.

i would just set the bg colour of your photoshop to the bg colour of your page then set the opacity of the layers above the canvas to whatever you want.

I think he means total transparency not translucency - make sure that the Matte (although I don't use Photoshop that much for web images, so I'm not too sure that that's what it'll be called) is set to a colour that's vaguely close to the page background, especially when using any fades or rounded corners.
