i wasn't happy with what i had made previously on my site because it was too long
here is a quick idea i have made today.
1. Is it too small?
2. Is it too big (download time)?
3. Is it too hard to read?
4. Any critique welcome

Hm...
1. Not IMO
2. About 6 Seconds for me, on 56k - not bad. Although the cloudy background seems to load again from scratch on each new page.
3. Nav, yes, slightly - could be smoother. everything else, maybe slightly too small but otherwise good.
4. Love it generally! Could do with some kind of border round the whole thing though.

thanks
i will probably increase the size, its just that i have 800x600 and i tend to make everything too small

Heh,
Well i'm on 1280 x 1024 with very few IE toolbars and it looks fine.. mind u i'm pretty into the minimalistic look.

Uber-small on my nonmaximized Safari window on my 21" 1600x1200 monitor at work*rubs it in more*

Its nice on my 800x600, are you goinig to add rollovers on the tabs? That would look nice, other than that, its all centered and nice looking, I just think you should use something other than the plain cloud filter in photoshop (I think thats what it is?) Maybe add something to it.
on 1280 x 1024 looks better than on 1024 x 768 .
Design will save da world!
Nevermind, scratch the cloude idea, I didnt notice the clouds covered the whole screen almost like fog. OK sorry, nice.
i was going to add rollovers, but i thought that would make my site a tiny bit too big.
I did use the cloud filter but i added a black blur at the top so it would look like the black nav buttons are connected to the page.
