    im fed up of trying now i really need help. Splufdaddy has showed me it's possible to make cells do their own thing and not allow any other cells to get bigger wen they do and well i just cant manage it. :cry:

    I just need some1 to show me how to get cells to stay in their own place. While other cells are being edited differently and havin txt written into them.

    i mean i've had my head in my html book for a week now and i cant figure out what i'm doing wrong.

    <TABLE>
    <TR>
    <TD></TD>
    </TR>
    </TABLE>

    i mean its as simple as that surly i've written code left rite and centre and im still annoyed lol. I only use either notepad or frontpage just help .....

    http://www.ps2reloaded.tk this is my page im working on. I just need the nav bar on the left to stay where it is while i type in the content box.

    Any ideas please..

I mean the CSS is only for ma cell wiv txt just givin it a border and aligning the txt. it has nothing to do wiv the nav bar cell does it? i just want my nav bar cell to stay still. but i wanna know how to do it for the rest of my site.

    one way is to use nested tables.

    <!-- master -->
    <table width="400px" height="200px" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
    <td width="400px" valign="top">
    <!-- end master -->

    <!-- nested table -->
    <table border="1" style="border-style:solid;" width="300px" height="20px">
    <tr>
    <td style="border-width:0px;">
    **SOME INPUT**
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <!-- end nested -->

    <!-- master -->
    </td></tr><tr>
    <td width="400px" valing="top">
    <!-- end master -->

    <!-- anoher nested table -->
    <table border="1" style="border-style:solid;" width="400px" height="180px">
    <tr>
    <td style="border-width:0px;">
    **LA LA LA SOME MORE INPUT..**
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <!-- end nested -->

    <!-- master -->
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <!-- end master -->

    this way you can use as much text as you want in certain cells and they wont effect the other ones because they are in different tables.
    and if you want more height or width then all you have to do is change height/width properties on the master table.

    hope this helps..

    The link you posted looks fine. Post a link to a page with your attempt to change what I gave you, and then we can see what you're doing wrong. Can't correct a problem we can't see.

    Page is unavailable. Another user had trouble tonight slicing his layout and I gave him advice that I think applies to you too. Read the thread here and pay special attention to vertical alignment. That could very well be your problem.

    That page looks fine to me, but I have another idea at what may be throwing your view of the page off: while viewing the page in IE, go to View --> Text Size --> Smallest. When I made the text bigger, it broke up your site. If this fixes the problem, than the way to ensure that everyone sees the page properly is to define the text's size using CSS. Hope this is it!
