    Hi all..

    Im having a bit of probs with my site.. I slice the images up, but when I try and go to add some content to the main content box you will see on the page, it moves my tables all around and everything goes out of position!

    Anyway to lock the tables, or could somebody recommend a way to slice this kind of interface correctly? I did the whole picture in Photoshop 7, and sliced it accordingly.

    The website is...

    http://www.gigtopia.com

    Right now it is one picture, no point in posting a sliced one because I can't add any content anyhow..

    Any help is HIGHLY appreciated..

    Thanks for reading this and your time.

    Make sure not only that all of your table cells have their sizes specified, but that the V-align and align parameters are set properly. If you post an attempt at a sliced layout, we can look at your code and correct your errors.

    Remove the image where the content should go, and put some actual content in there. SHOW us your problem, using code, and we can correct it. There's nothing wrong with the code you showed us, so there's nothing to correct.

    I looked at your layout, and after playing with it it was drastically improved by setting the table cell's vertical alignment to top (as I said in my first post):
    Code:
    <TD  valign="top">
    I noticed that you had alot of blank gray images filling space. Instead of these, I'd recommend setting the cell's bg color to gray and then you wont need most of these images. For spacing purposes, when you do need to use an image, use a 1x1 pixel transparent "spacer.gif" image on your site, to speed it up (you can resize the same spacer.gif for different areas).

    Finally, borders can be tricky. I've found that the best way to make borders isn't by using images, but using CSS. Something like this would do the trick:
    Code:
    .border {
    	border: 1px solid #000000;
    }
    Just specify what cells you want to have a border like so:
    Code:
    <td class="border">
    Thats alot of info right there, let us know what doesn't make sense.

    Kirman, please don't double post. Your slicing issues are being discussed in your own thread.
