I agree with what's been said, and I have this to add:
    1. The banner is a little tall IMO. I like to see content near the top of the page so visitors don't have to scroll down to see content. Scrolling isn't necessary to view content, but the top image could be made smaller and still accomplish it's task.
    2. Mouseovers would make the site look better. Don't forget to preload them if you make them!
    3. The list on the left hand side, starting with "Website Design..." would look better in a different font, and maybe with some small formatting decoration, like in a box with a thin border, or with a line going down the length of the page seperating the two columns. More eye-pleasing text formatting, including different fonts and maybe some color would improve the look.

I dont think anyones going to look at that site and think to themselves that they should let you design their website.

Its extremely amatuer and most people could knock something better together in 10 minutes on geocities.

Harsh i know, but clients need to be able to spot some talent before they are willing to be separated from their cash.

I could throw that together in half an hour...

Just like garfonline said, clients will want to see talent before they hire someone to do their site. Change the font, sharpen up the graphics, and seperate the nav from the rest of the page and it would look decent.

    Garfonline and Ryan,

While you have a right to critique another's work in a negative fashion, you have to learn the difference between constructive criticism and insulting.

When you criticize work in a constructive fashion, it makes you appear helpful and knowledgeable.

When you insult someone, it makes you look condescending, vain, and arrogant.

Whose advice do you think people would hold in higher regard: the helpful knowledgeable person or the arrogant vain person?

Both links don't work for me.
I am a 13 year old graphics designer. I would love to make anyone who requests a logo for a price that we can discuss. I have taught myself how to make graphics. I made the winning entry for WebScalpel.com.
