    Hello,

I'm looking for some input regarding the layout and design of this site. Please note that I am still adding content so please don't comment on that (unless it's good commenting)

Looks like a great place to hang out One thing I definitely do not like is the white text on the black background. The slide show is nice.

Sorry I have to say it looks a bit old fashioned. Kind of like something from 10 years ago. Try styling your body text as Times at this size tends to look like something from the late 90's.

    I hope you're not offended.

The font is set to Times. I am not sure what you are referring to. increase decrease size of font? I am open to criticism although for only commenting on font you were a bit harsh and left out most of the other details of the page..... thinking that you may have liked the layout and design but you left no input on that.

The site layout gives a very retro feeling. Like something that was designed back in the late 1990's. If this is the feeling you are going for, well, you have succeeded. However if it's not, then you might want to do research on the net for sites that have similar content (bar/restaurant/pool hall) and see how they are designed.

Validation on HTML level passed with one warning...
Validation on CSS level passed 100%. You should be proud of yourself on this.
Validation on Accessibility level also passed.
Now if you can carry this through onto the next level of redesign to make it more modern-ish, then you've got a site that would make people want to visit the site and place more often.

    Congrats!

I'd agree. I've made a few of these "retro" sites as well (not really on purpose) It's functional except the menu.

Few things I would change are :
The font style I would change to arial.
Also I would change the font colour.
Link the image of the dog to the home page.
Reduce the opacity of the background image.
    Overall great design.
