looks good
I prefer 1.0 myself, 2.0 is way too dark for my taste.
Welcome to the boards by the way

The first style is much better; the second is too hard to read. You probably should reverse the colour scheme.
Other than that, the only thing that bothers me is that your forums don't have one specific theme. WDF is a web design board, Host Hideout is a hosting board, and yours is...well, I dunno. It needs to have one specific theme or goal that relates to the overall purpose of your site (which is something on brief examination I couldn't really determine either.) In other words, you've branched out too far. Streamline your focus.
If I've helped you out in any way, please pay it forward. My wife and I are walking for Autism Speaks. Please donate, and thanks.
If someone helped you out, be sure to "Like" their post and/or help them in kind. The "Like" link is on the bottom right of each post, beside the "Share" link.

well mine's a general all around board i guess, and the reason the dark style is for some of my members, they prefer dark styles, so being the good admin i am i made it for them.
I like both styles, but the 2.0 banner is what I like the most.

I really like the green color scheme. I'm not a fan of dark color schemes, but those that are will like your dark color scheme I think.
I agree with TheGame about the focus of your board. By covering so many subjects, you're spreading yourself thin. You have 400 members coming to your board, for all different reasons. Some for music, some for games, some for webdesign, etc. I wouldn't sign up for your boards because web design is a small part of the discussion. I know here at WDF that there are 2000+ members, all with an interest and knowledge of web design/programming. If you focus on one subject, you'll start to draw members interested in that area, and end up building an expert user pool.
i only have about 30 active members
i need more, wut do u guys suggest i focus on?
I'd suggest you focus on something that you have a good knowledge and interest of. That way you'll be interested in the forum topic and have fun posting, and you'll be able to carry alot of the conversations while you're building a member base.
You could even make a poll/thread about this issue on your board, and have your active members weigh in. If you make a poll, I'd only include the topics that you would be comfortable focusing on.
see, i know lots about graphics, and web design... but, there are plenty of forums that focus on the same thing, so why would anyone come to my board...
1 more thing...
the forum is too wide for 800x600, therefore horizontal scrolling occurs (what a bitch)
