    Hi guys,

Since everyone else has submitted a site and I've helped review some, I figure it's my turn to get a little help. This is a site that will cater to the hot rod community, which runs pretty strong and deep. The general idea is that we're going to let people post stuff for free and support it via advertiser revenue from a combination of a few sources.

This is also somewhat unique in that this site is a partnership of two, and the partners in this case were born about 30 years apart. I'm one of them, so I'll let you determine how old the other one is. While I would normally discourage partnerships, in this case this is someone I've worked with for almost 10 years, developed several sites for, know very well personally and trust implicitly...so that's why we're partners. This isn't one of those web partnership deals. And yes, this is relevant because there are certain aspects of the site that my partner is responsible for.

This site, as mentioned above, is under construction but we expect to have the vast majority of it finished by Friday, and at least be ready enough for launch. Now, because it is under construction, certain things aren't going to work. I'm aware of some of them, and probably not aware of others. As a result, I'm going to apply a bit of a twist to the review process and apply criticisms (constructive ones, of course, because I know you guys will rock the constructiveness) under one of three categories:

    1) Things that I already know need to be fixed. I have a list of these things, but just to avoid a case of monkey see monkey do, I'll keep that under my hat for now. But if you hit upon something and I say "I know about that, thanks", please don't take it personally...it's just my way of validating that these things need to be fixed. There's a list of about 18 different things still to go, all fairly minor.

    2) Things that I don't already know need to be fixed. Obviously I'll acknowledge those and say thank you very much for pointing them out, because these are the things that I'm really looking for.

    3) Things that you suggest need improvement but aren't going to change. The logo is an example of this...business cards were already printed and distributed, and my partner absolutely loves it, so we're going with it. Mind you, I wish I had seen the show Eastbound and Down before Saturday, because purely by accident the show's logo looks similar to the one I created.

Another example is the odd spacing within the code. The site's built on the ASP.net framework (my first major .NET project), and that's a side effect I haven't yet figured out how to deal with.

Anyway, hopefully you guys can come up with some criticisms and things that I can steal and claim I thought of all by myself to make the site better. Thanks in advance.

Slightly clean up the graphic fonts used for the menu bar. Slightly pixelated around the words for me.

Oh, lord, I remember going to the car show here in Place Bonaventure before my daughter was born - huge cavernous are with literally hundreds of cars on display. I went on a Sunday - didn't realize it was the last night of the show.

All of a sudden the cars displays were shutting down, lights going out. Then, one after another, the street rods fired up and revved like mad - must have been a couple of dozen of them in that enclosed space, you could feel your blood vibrating in your veins - spectacular!

They took off slowly down the exit ramp, the cops had the street blocked off at the bottom for farther than I could see, and when they hit the street they took off, two by two, burning rubber down the street...
    One of my best memories.

I tried to relive it last year with my daughter, really wanted her to experience it, but they don't do it anymore.

    Hey GAME,

I am sure there is stuff wrong with it, but I wasted my whole time looking at the seventy some pages of car picks, I wish there was more T-Bucket pics, I sure love those!
    Peace, Mike

HAHAHAHAHAHAH Believe it or not, Mike, that's actually some good feedback. Same with Mare. It means we're on to something.

Very nice. Now that I'm finally done drooling, I did notice what Wired was talking about. I noticed the pixelated edges mostly on the bottom of the images. The logo has a case of the jaggies on the bottom of it, as well. Damn nice layout, though.
