Not sure how my site was a duplicate of another site. Sure it had a inspiration from another site, but all graphics were original and it was complete vector art of an original business name Tree Life Designs.

I seem to recall stating this before, since technically I was the one who started all this

Oooookkkk.... I think I will be the allied of justice.

Your Home page Image : Rip off from this site http://www.thoughtmechanics.com/ ( click on the second slider button)
Content layout: Rip off from here http://thelogocompany.net/

Your Website process page: concept layout: Rip off from here http://thelogocompany.net/logo-design-process.htm

Your Portfolio page:Rip off from here http://thelogocompany.net/logo-design-example.htm
Your Faqs Page Rip off from here http://thelogocompany.net/logo-design-help.htm

Now why must you do that to yourself?

You claimed that the design before was not a "duplicate", but inspired by others, what kind of inspiration was that. If I remember correctly , the only original thing I think was there was the background image and logo. Everything else was extremely similar to the other websites listed in the quote above.
So why didn't you respond to the threads before to defend yourself when this was discovered? And now you post again like 2 months later saying that it wasn't? Think we would forget? Not when people like TheGAME1264 and AlphaMare in this forum.

And yes , it was implied that you did the website yourself. What?.. we all need to go back to grammar school and figure out what you were trying to say?

I also think that the website portfolio looks as others. I would prefer to create something more unique, if I will create portfilio website. You have used only one direction. You have the same colors as others portfolio. There are exist a lot of color resources that can help to choos good color scheme. I don't see the main idea.

For those unfamiliar with what MYIWDesigns is talking about:

http://www.webdesignforums.net/threa...my-site.32910/

This isn't the first time this guy has tried this. But he's got 24 hours to explain himself or it will be the last time he tries this (on here, anyway). Content jacking and misrepresentation isn't cool.

OK - this guy came on board 2 months ago with duplicate design, copy etc.

It seems like he has had the site completely redesigned, as per the following:

http://www.thoughtmechanics.com/ uses MooTools, the new site uses jQuery

http://thelogocompany.net/ uses a template with the author info left intact. TreeLife has either removed the author info or had a Theme made for them, and thus does not display any author info. I tend toward the latter because this is a WP Theme built on a free framework and using a child Theme for styling and extra functionality.

So basically, after hiring someone to make changes in the site, he is again trying to pass off someone else's work as his own, in this case the designer of the Framework theme, the team who wrote the child Theme for him, and (I'm just guessing here) most probably a copywriter or two.

What's wrong with saying:
"I realize my first site was a terrible mistake, and so I hired these great guys to help me out with something more original. They decided to go with WordPress as the platform, and made a really cool sute based on (insert Framework here) with a super, totally custom child Theme. Take a look and tell me what you think of the new site."

But no: he does exactly the same thing - passing off others' work as his own. This kind of misrepresentation is cheating, it cheapens the whole industry, and I am beyond tired of it, now I'm flat out pissed off.

Just in case anyone thinks I don't follow my own rules, here you are. I have posted requests for review 4 times since becoming a member here. Where the sites were sites I had hand-coded, it was obvious from the source. When the sites were WordPress sites, or based on some other framework or template, I said so clearly in the request for review.

It says specifically in the rules "Posting material that is not yours, and claiming it as your own is considered copyright infringement and will result in immediate account closure."

This is probably my longest post ever, but this is something I feel very strongly about.

In one way or another he owns the site since his developer team did the work for him, so it isn't copyright infringement.

The english is JUST broken enough to not being able to tell if HE did it, or he had someone else do it, so anyone stating that he's claiming that he did the work himself is reading a bit into it. Granted it's an easy leap of logic, but a leap nonetheless.

Here are the facts as I see it so far:

treelifedesigns had his design team work up a new site. They had it up on a test site for demo purposes. treelifedesigns then copied the site to the live server.

Here's my question: treelifedesigns: Are you just the business owner, and others work for you doing the web design work for the company, or do you do yourself do web design work as well?

I see why you said that, Wired, but I don't agree with that at all.

If the guy's from India...okay, maybe he misread something on another board, didn't know what it meant, and turned around and reused it without meaning to, then that's one thing. But the guy's clearly from Georgia.

If the guy hadn't previously copied other people's stuff and passed it off as his own...maybe. Big maybe, though, and a moot point since MYIW already nailed his *** to the wall for it previously (and quite rightly so).

This guy knew exactly what he implied and how he intended for it to come across. Technically, he didn't actually use the word "I", but that's more because he has the writing skills of an 8-year-old than because he was intelligent enough to circumvent the English language (have a look at the sitemap and pick any 3-5 pages...an English teacher would have a field day with this guy).

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually feel bad for the guys in India who did the work. 1) They'll never get credit for it and 2) they probably think that this guy will generate business through his site and they'll be doing all sorts of work for him. Not...gonna...happen.
MYIWDesigns and Blackhawk095 like this.
