    Hey guys,

Just completed a new redesign of my site. Tell me what you hate/love and rate

    Thanks,

[EDIT: Link removed by TheGAME1264. It's already part of the review, and that's all you need. Thanks, dude.]

It looks pretty neat, but I've seen about a billion portfolio sites with the same format. They usually spic up the navigation with lavalamp though hahah.
As I said though, it's a pretty good looking design in itself. The layout is simple, the colors look nice, and it's easy to find stuff.
Although it's suspicious that a fully-developed site like this is put up for review.

George - he posted a while ago with a site that was a, how to say it politely - copy? duplicate ? - of another site. This is more original that that one was.

I would still like to see folks who are using a WP theme disclose that - say whether it is a custom theme they made themselves, or one they customized from a downloaded theme.

Not sure how my site was a duplicate of another site. Sure it had a inspiration from another site, but all graphics were original and it was complete vector art of an original business name Tree Life Designs.

As far as this site is concerned it is a custom theme build by my development staff. We chose a direction to keep it simple and display our work in a repetitive manner with an option of a quote on all pages.

It actually is a "duplicate"....but this one's got a twist to it.

I'm with George...I was suspicious when I saw "masala.in" in your portfolio. It's pretty common to see Indian web designers and developers to list American sites in their portfolios. The other way around? Practically non-existent.

    Now, watch closely, kids....

    http://91.biz/tld/services/
    http://treelifedesigns.com/services/

Seems like a stolen copy...but in this case, I don't actually think it is. Why? Because we do a WHOIS lookup of 91.biz:

    http://whois.domaintools.com/91.biz

And we see name servers in India.

Which means...that the "team" is outsourced to India, and it means that you didn't do your own work in all likelihood. You might have written the copy (which I'm not even sure of since I see "busines" misspelled), but that's about as far as it probably went.

There's nothing wrong with paying someone else to do design work...but don't represent it as your own when that's clearly not the case. Now...if 91.biz stole it from you, that's a different story...but if you just redid it, it's pretty unlikely that someone horked your idea right away.

This is why I'm electing not to review the site...I'd rather review something that's real.
If I've helped you out in any way, please pay it forward. My wife and I are walking for Autism Speaks. Please donate, and thanks.

I stated that I have a redesign of my new site. I never claimed that I actually did the work. I actually stated my developer team did theme and such... 91.biz was our staging area to create the site which is very common to do. Its not stolen work, My designer's created the designs and we implemented. Not sure I was asking what you thought of my business solution, but to rate the design...

    Hey guys,

Just completed a new redesign of my site.
The word "I" is implied at the beginning. So yes, you did claim that. At no point did you mention a development team the first time. You only mentioned it when George called you out (quite rightly). You also said that it wasn't a duplicate, when it clearly is. Now, one's a "staging area", or so you claim, but it's clearly an identical copy.

I am rating the design...just not in the way you want. That's not what anyone here worth their salt would do. A good review is based on the layout, the content, the functionality, and the other elements that make up a website design. It's a holistic view.

In your particular case, there really isn't much to rate. Your site is nothing more than a bunch of pretty pages that say very little and contain some rather silly spelling and grammar errors (e.g. "analystics") slapped onto WordPress because you want to follow what you think is the prevailing trend. You didn't do any of the design or development yourself, and you may not have even written the copy yourself (I suspect you probably did, but I'm not sure).

So whether you like it or not, your "business solution" is part of your design. And your "business solution" is weak.

lol - so now the word 'I' is implied. George didn't call anyone out. I was asking for someone to rate the design of the site. I wasn't submitting my site in competition claiming the work was mine at any point. Your whole theory that it is a duplicate is pretty weak considering I have control over the domain treelifedesigns.com and that is integrated into the design. You are right though it is a copy of the staging area congrats.

You can go on your power trip because you are a mod over a forum site, but my business is my business and I enjoy it. Next time before you go and slam someone for posting something maybe ask a simple question to clarify. I can change anything on the staging domain to prove that it is my companies work.

It was implied; whether you choose to accept the implication or conveniently ignore it is your call. Did you say "my team just completed..."? Nope. Did you say "We just completed..."? Nope. You said "Just completed...", which is a colloquial implication that you did the work on your own. You clearly meant to imply something that wasn't the case. Again, whether you choose to acknowledge that you screwed up or not is your call...but you're not fooling anyone here.

You can "enjoy" your reseller business all you want. I never said you couldn't. Heck, if I didn't have to do any real work and sit back and let other people do my work for me...wait, no, I have a little more self-respect than that, as do most of the people who post here. I've dealt with guys like you before, and the only good thing about you is that you end up returning pretty quickly to whatever rock you crawled out from under when you're exposed. In the meantime, go ahead and get angry and belligerent because you were caught claiming you're something you're not. I love guys like you because you can never admit you're wrong, even when it's so obvious a four-year-old could put the puzzle together.
