    [COLOR=rgb(102, 102, 102)]Hello,

Since I am a novice in major Web Design work, your comments and advice would be of great help.

Please take a look at the site and let me know your thoughts.
I am currently making changes to the layout based on feedback from colleagues and friends, but they are not specialists in the field. I won't tell you what they complained about to prevent any bias.

Feel tear everything apart(graphics, layout, navigation, menu structure, content, metatags).

    Thanks a lot.

The main issues i see with the site as soon as i open is is:

theres farrrrr to much text on the homepage... I personally find it very offputting. You might want to cut it down and add some "BAM we do this this this read more" rather than alot of blurb, if that makes sense.

Also you need to style the Read More links...Make them as buttons i suggest, it will add texture to the site.

Liking the width of your site (im on a netbook and width is perfect.) But i suggest making the main wrapper container have a background of white and the actual body background a different color, as its abit too white at the moment. Also if you do that with the container add a box-shadow on it to make it stand out of the site for that more 3D look.

Your logo is blurry as well... whether its designed to be abit bigger or because you may have uploaded a low res version of it im not sure but its blurry..

Other than that its a nice site

Okay, who else read this and thought the entire development team was made of vampires? Come on, be honest.

Seriously, I want a legitimate explanation of this and why this isn't a thinly veiled SEO effort before i review anything...and keep in mind I'm not going to accept a vested-interest answer for this, either.

I agree with him, there's way too much stuff on one page. Section it off better. Or at least lay it out better

    From their site:

If you go look at their Web Development > projects, they seem to have got a fair number of sites under their belt - why would they be wanting design advice, and cross-posting to multiple forums?

That's my question. Based on that, and the shall we say unusual naming of subdomains on the site, this doesn't look like the work of a web design newbie as such. I'm not buying the whole "novice" angle.

    Hi all,

This is my project, not AROBS' and I am indeed a novice in corporate size design work. I have also made lots of mistakes and hoped to get some feedback from you prior to having disclosed them. AROBS has been doing mostly software development work (not design). In this area the company is making its first steps.

Here's the improved version of the design. If you feel like making any comments, fine, if not I'll look elsewhere for advice. Thanks a lot for taking the time to read the post.

I may be missing something obvious, but other than replacing the blue with a black (which doesn't have much of an impact), I don't see any real difference.

Now, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt here and assume you are indeed new to web design; I normally don't do so, but in this case, I have a reason to do so. The company you work for clearly isn't that new to web design, and is aware on at least some level of SEO and keywords. There are a few subdomains (java-development-romania, microsoft-development-romania) that would have only been created by a company based on the SEO concept that keywords in a domain (or in this case, a subdomain) can improve search engine ranking. The effect of this is at best negligible, and may actually do more harm than good; if a user glances at the address bar and sees those subdomains, they look pretty silly and a little bit spammy as well.

Your company is also not all that new because they use the obscure and ultra-junky TYPO3 CMS. I've used that thing before, and you'd pretty well have to be a development company to know of that thing and what it's all about. Of course, if you are a development company or a developer and someone asks you to update content in that thing, it'll take you 5-10 times longer and you'll probably curse its very existence.

If you are indeed new to design and development, you may want to look for another company to work for/with...especially if they're the ones who told you to cross-post your question.
