This is the near-final version of the photography portfolio I posted about in the help forum. Same disclaimer as the last layout I posted for review: the photography and favicon aren't part of the final product. In fact, this one just uses photos from my family photos, which my wife will probably kill me for.

Seems like there's too much space between the 'about' and the 'contact' section. Is that on purpose?

Yes. I don't want them to show on screen at the same time. It's a one-page site that's meant to feel like multiple pages.

Looks nice and simple. I just don't understand why it's a one-page site.

If Emily has enough pictures in her portfolio, and she probably does, then those pics can probably be categorized as things like children's photography, studio photography, weddings, anniversaries, funerals for people nobody likes, whatever she takes pictures of. That would bring the site out a lot more and would avoid the need for the large white space. About could be its own page as well, if brought out a little more.

It's a good start...don't get me wrong. I just think you need to expand.

It said in the about section that she does family photos. Does she do family photos exclusively, or does she capture other subjects?

Right now, she specializes in children, but for the most part only does family stuff.

BTW, it seems like you guys are scrolling instead of using the icons on the right side to navigate. Did you not realize they were there? Or did you not realize they were for navigation? If so, I may need to retool the design anyway. I'll definitely lose the white space, since it just comes off as weird.

Yeah, I didn't really pay attention to those. Sorta missed them, I don't know why
