I said this the last time you posted a site and I'll say it here...bro, you need a color. Any color. Just pick a color and use it. The shades of grey you use are depressing. Grey has its use, but this is like looking at dark cloud cover when you want to go play a soccer or baseball game and praying for no lightning. Add some color and life and you've got a really good layout, though.
One other piece of advice, and this goes for both your blog and your main website since I've seen the word used on both. You're looking for work and you're looking for work in what you've described as a pretty Christian area (and I tend to believe that). You probably don't want to go around using the word "****", "******" or any derivative thereof. That might be part of your issue. I don't have a problem with the word myself, but then again, I'm very difficult to offend.
The one other thing I would do is lose what appears to be the white drop shadow or emboss effect on the text. It makes the text harder to read in Chrome and FF, and a whole lot easier to read in IE.

I agree - put one bright colour in - much as decorators use accent colours in a neutral room to bring some life to it. I'd suggest a nice deep red (true red, like #CC3333, not maroon or burgundy) or a good rich teal blue(#33CCCC).Originally Posted by TheGAME1264, post: 214163

When it comes to colors for me I think I have a very neutral, safe or dull approach. I understand where you are coming from, as far as adding a different tone or an offset color to the theme. Even when I attempt to create something bright, I am still stuck with the same set of safe colors. Take a look at this - http://route19designs.com/R19D-09/ - for example. It's different shades of blue with a shade of grey.Originally Posted by AlphaMare, post: 214172
As far as posting Spam - that is so lame and so many people do it. I guess I am old school in the sense that I rather be direct or completely blank the antagonist out.

The text shadow really depends on your monitor. The fact that it works well in IE is a bad thing, almost like going against the grain. (LOL)Originally Posted by TheGAME1264, post: 214163

Truthfully, I appreciate all of your opinions. I agree that my language can be a bit strong at times. I also agree with the fact that I do write about "me" and "I" quite a bit. That particular issue is what really seems to be the problem and I'm glad that it was pointed out. As far as my designs and layouts go, I am very confident about them. I prefer the latter over loud obstructive colors on any given day.

It actually didn't work at all. That's what made it easier for me to read. The white comes off really strong on mine (Samsung 19" hooked up with a DVI input) so not having it at all made things less difficult.Originally Posted by DanExcell, post: 214206

That's where you have to be careful. You may prefer them, and that's cool...but "they" (meaning people who would use your services) might not. Again, I'm only mentioning this because I'm trying to help you reach your client base and I think the colors you use might be obstructing your ability to do so.Originally Posted by DanExcell, post: 214208
