So this is the first design I have created for the rentasite setup.

What do you guys think of it?

Ignore the fact its got the Joomla sample data in it. Its there on purpose so I can create the Joomla CSS.

What do you like, what don't you like.

Also I seem to be having an issue with the navigation at the top. In firefox when you scroll over the buttons they change but the menu expands slightly and im not sure why. In chrome... it doesnt show at all. just the text. Anyone have an idea why this may be?

Please be aware that its connected to my localhost and not live hosted at the moment, this is for development purposes, and the IP Address may change in the next few days. If it does, bump the thread saying ip has changed and ill upload the latest.

Ive tried Dyndns but its having issues connecting through for some reason. Will continue to look into it.

Hope you guys like the new "Spa" site

Took like, half a minute, but it loaded.
    Here are a few things:
    • consider giving the nav items mouse-over effects. Maybe if the text turned blue, it would look nice
    • the background images are extremely pixelated. if you solve that problem, the background would look kick-*** though.
    • this is no big deal, but maybe give the 'subscribe' button some substance. either a background color, or some fancy hover effect

That's all I've got for now. The site itself is pretty great, congrats.

Oh dw about the load times. thats because its being hosted on my local laptop here, so its expected.
There is a rollover on the nav items. Open it in firefox and ie and it works.. it just doesnt in chrome for some reason.
The bg image was only something like 600x500px in height/width and i expanded it to 1024 ha theyre only stock photos anyways so no biggy.

The Subscribe button im currently working on. I only just installed it ha! I have to css skin that button and give it some good looking effects

Thanks man, so it looks like a proper site for a spa?

Yeah definitely looks like a proper spa site. And I forgot that you mentioned it's broken in chrome. That's a first for me though, that something doesn't work in chrome. But that's probably because I design in it, hehe

Coolio Thanks Man thats good to know.

Yea same for me, I design in chrome and then test it in Opera, Firefox, IE and Safari for consistancy

    Love the contact form.
Love that the background stays in place and only the contents scroll.
Love the background colour you've chosen for the <h1> and <h2> tags in the table and box - I'd go further and use the same background colour family for the column <h2> tags and the contact form table body as well, e.g. #3ed3d3.

The images are obviously comps (diagonal lines = dead giveaway) but if you're looking to get something similar for the real thing, I'd suggest you might want an image with a slightly lighter feel - for example, this one would also mesh well with the colours you are using, and would suit the layout if it were flipped horizontally.

Thanks for that AM, Glad peoples like it.

Ive changed the bg image to the one you suggested. What do you recon now?

I dont quite understand what you mean about the 3ed3d3 bit, slightly confuddled there. :S
