    Hi guys!

My page is finally up! :happy:I hope to get some good reviews--but some good critiques as well.
I know the mouse's outline is poor at the moment, I'm in the process of fixing that up.
Otherwise, have at it! I want honest opinions, but please don't be just plain mean. Suggest alternatives!

    Thanks!

Much better, not sure about the mouse and what it symbolizes. I like it...
BTW: I was not being mean, (being mean is hating your work just because and for reasons that have nothing to do with web design) just wanted you to be aware. From here you will only get better...

I like it too. Nice color scheme, even though I'm personally not a fan of brown. I like the gradients and box shadows you have going on. The middle box is sort of blurry on the edges though, not necessarily a bad thing, it's just trippy.
Your about page is very good, since it has a picture and border around the text. On the other pages, it looks like the text is just floating out there. Maybe put in a picture or something, so it's not just a wall of text. Maybe put in that 'relax' rock that you have on FB somewhere
I like the mouse, very cute :giggle:

No, no Dan. I wasn't referring to you. I had just seen in other threads people were being a bit mean without offering much to fix the issues they saw. I was trying to keep them from posting the same way on my thread. Your info is very welcome here.

As for the mouse... I searched for "mouse, zen, etc." and this little mouse popped up. Obviously I was looking for a computer mouse, but I fell in love with this little guy, and he makes a way better mascot than a computer mouse would. I love it! Think this way... "Is your computer mouse as relaxed and happy as mine?"

Game, I just got this site up yesterday so your DNS may not yet have ahold of the info.

Amber - we mods try hard to let people know that if they are going to critique a site they should have something positive to offer for the things they find fault with. But you know this is a public forum and sometimes they will slip by us. Don't take it too hard, and take a look at the person'r details. Usually they are quite new. People like that tend to either shape up or drop out pretty fast.

That said - I adore the mouse - he's darling.
    A couple of suggestions:
In you navigation, you may want to try a different colour for the zen.png image that you are using to divide your links. On both of my monitors it is so close to the background colour that it is hard to see exactly what it is. Perhaps a tiny drop shadow or a thin stroke outline in a slightly darker blue or a medium grey?
On your "other services" page, you have a link to a tutorial on social media "How to use Facebook and other social media". I think it is too vague a title, perhaps you should think about breaking it down a bit. That way you could easily get several tutorials out of it; "How to use Facebook to connect with friends" How to use Social media to promote your event" "How to use social media in a job search" etc.. and add them one at a time over a month or two. This would help keep your content fresh and could possibly help you with the search engines - they like to see that sites are being updated and not left stagnant.

This is a very nice site - you have put thought and effort into it and if you keep that up you will only get better!

    Thanks Alpha!

I made the zen dividers close to the background color so that it didn't distract the eye from the navigation. I could give it some more pizzazz, I don't think it would hurt anything.

I really like the idea of making the tutorials a little bit more defined. I left it vague because I like to think that I'm a Facebook wizard (bahahaha!), but I can see how it will help by adding content over time. I'm also thinking about moving the mouse or making him smaller on the front page to show the current sales/deals that I have.

Actually it had the opposite effect - I was squinting at them trying to see what they were and ignoring the links.

    G'day Amber,
I like the site, its easy to read and works well. Good work
A couple of issues I have noticed for you to work on.
    1. - Even though your site container is perfect size for 1024x screens something's not quite right because the site isn't sitting in the centre of the screen. In fact the screenshot above your URL Link show's you what it looks like on my screen.
    2. - For your Brown text container see if you can add a border on it. It will make it stand out a bit more I recon.
    3. - The spacers in the nav don't really show up that well, maybe make it stand out more?
    4. - With your 'about me' page make the Light brown box have a border radius of 10px, it just looks a bit out of place.
and 5. - (finally :P) With your titles, make them a bit bigger and maybe change the colors? (something that will match the brown containers)

    Hope all this helps ya
