This was the first proper website I have completed. It is one of those poker affiliate websites. It is not fully completed as I made some major changes that still need to be implemented on most pages. The purpose of me doing this website was mainly to learn. Hopefully in the future it might make me money but at the moment I am having trouble getting traffic. I have set up around 15 backlinks but Google is not detecting them. Any feedback would be helpful. As I said this sit was mainly to learn the techniques to use for my next sites.
Im pretty new to web design but I am learning fast. I will help if I can.

A few of things -
First, why do you have two identical Google Analytics scripts in the <head> of your site?

Second - it is completely designed in tables - tables have limitations, the biggest drawback is that a browser cannot display anything until everything including images and all text are loaded into memory. Tables should really only be used to display tabular data - that's why most designers are now using CSS for the layout of the page.

Third - what kind of backlinks are you referring to? SEO depends far more heavily on the content on your site's pages (<h1> tags containing keywords, descriptive page titles, keywords being used organically in text content, etc...) than on external links that you may or may not have any control over. Your metatags keywords are so generic, you will be in competition with a zillion other poker sites. Figure out what makes your site better/different and make keywords based on that - it will help you stand out in an overflowing market.

First things first. It you want to be a designer don't use tables. Use css like AlphaMare has mentioned. I also think you website is WAY to cluttered. When it loads up my eyes don't know were go first. Theres just so much text.

When I ran your website through W3Validator it gave me 25 errors. Use this site to check our code for errors and fix them.

Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks.
But of course, if you dig deeper, itís really how it works.

The hole website needs to be redone. I was only doing that one mainly for practice. The website I am working on now http://www.mediareviewzone.com has no tables and is not as cluttered. When I have more done with this website I will go back and do the poker site all over again. Thanks for all your input, it has helped. Next step is to learn more about SEO. I am finding it pretty hard getting back links.
