Looks damn good. I really don't have any negative critique on it. Really sharp.

Overall I like it. It's clean, simple and sharp. What I WOULD recommend, however, is axing the "Daryl Summers" background and banner ad above "Welcome to my portfolio."

Simply put, the background looks tacky and the space used by the banner ad would be better served with a simple preview of your portfolio that users can click on to be taken to the portfolio site.

Here's an example of what I mean:

Basically, put your portfolio right in your viewers' faces. I think that's the most important thing for a portfolio site.

Thank you ever so much for your feedback. I plan to make this change (as it has been suggested to me before) but I am waiting on my boss at work to give me approval on using my design concepts for clients... as it is a bit of a grey area whether I can use them or not as they are not clients I sourced myself. I do want the portfolio to be the main focus of the website and your suggestion of replacing the banner with images of website designs is a perfect way to achieve this.

Hey man, I'm from Kent as well!

Really like the site, feels quite polished and clean. From a developer point of view, I'd rewrite the URL to remove "index.php?page=", from an SEO point of view, I'd put a <h1 style="display:none;">Daryl Summers</h1> sort of thing at the top of your body.

On your home page slider, I'd maybe consider giving it more purpose and showing portfolio pieces. (I think this was mentioned above but only read quickly)

I like that you've justified the text - however it doesn't really work in places such as under each portfolio item - I'd just align text left there perhaps.

You have a latest news section on your home page - but no news page on your nav bar? I'm guessing the site isn't finished though as there is a news page without any styling applied.

All in all a very nice site.

I love it man, a very nice simplistic yet effective site (I'm someone who likes simplicity) my only critique would be to add live links to your portfolio work (click here to go to site) as quite a few people do like to see a working site.

Other than that man good work. Look forward to seeing your work in the future. (followed)

    Hi Ganners,

Thank you for your detailed feedback. I have made most of the changes you suggested (will be doing the news page this week).

Just for future reference, what difference will hiding that H1 tag (which I have done) do?

    Many thanks!
