    Hey,

I recently redesigned my portfolio design site, The one thing that I wanted to do was validate it against the XHTML strict 1.0 and CSS but there are many mistakes. Also I should have created just one CSS file and made the contents div auto height and added individual elements to each page.

Anyway let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    Patrick

I think the design looks great.

The only suggestion I have for you is to set a minimum width and height for your textareas on your forms. If you change the width or height, the whole page moves around.

Code wise - get rid of the tables! Tables should be used for tabular data and not for layout!

Design-wise, It's not bad - I like to see a wider colour palette, but that's a very subjective thing.
One thing I think you may want to take a closer look at is the spacing of the items in the header and footer - I think it would give a more balanced feel to the page if they were closed together, placed more centrally under the main content. Either that, or make your content container wider.
Good design should never say "Look at me!"
It should say "Look at this." ~ David Craib

Looks great! I wouldn't worry about the tables. They're not hurting a thing with your site and are still used by a much larger majority than most people realize and will continue to use.

Are you going to redesign with divs? If you think its hard or something i'm sure a lot of us are willing to help. I don't want to see a good design go to waste with tables.

Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks.
But of course, if you dig deeper, itís really how it works.

This is due to a lot of the older die hard designers.
