So, this is a new project that I'm working on, but I'm not going to say much else. Well, I would, but I'm not allowed to say any more than what the website itself says I would like to tell you guys the goal that we have for this site, but I really can't.

Anyways, I'd really appreciate any constructive criticism, or any ideas to improve the overall appearance of the page.

First of all. Will you be basing the new O/S off of a linux distro?

The URL is too long, if you want to make an impact get the proper domain.

Apart from using Dreamweaver the site looks ok. (Dreamweaver (I codename Bloatcode) isn't the best thing to use when designing websites... no matter what other people may say.)

I think this only looks good to the trained eye. To a person with not much experience, it looks like a very basic and messily done site.

What did you mean by the whole O/S thing?... Anyways, yeah, Dreamweaver kind of screws around a lot. The domain is just temporary. I'm not able to purchase one right now, so I just added a subdomain to my artfulme.net one

What could I do to make it look less messy (because I was kind of thinking the same thing)? It all looked pretty good on my monster monitor (it's... big) but on my other (more normal) ones, the page kind of seems crowded.

Well, it's just a plain text site, some graphics wouldn't hurt. And add a bit more color also. Maybe some shade of green to contrast the pink.
I just found out the big pink sentences are links, as opposed to questions that get answered later on in the page. Try to make it more obvious that they're links. I like the sliding effect you have there.
I think you would benefit if you put a definition of 'nerd' or 'kn3rd' somewhere on your site, either so people can relate, or get a chuckle from it. Make it dictionary-looking.
And this is just detail, but I would make the link a toggle link, ie you can click it to show a div, and you can click it to hide the div. Much more convenient that way.

And if you wrote your own jQuery - how did you get the bouncing effect?

Ironic, I was just thinking of doing that

I used slideUp and slideDown for the sliding (probably should have used slideToggle).

For the bounce, I used the jQuery easing plugin. It has a lot of great... eases?... to use when animating

Pretty cool site. Even though its in its "baby stages" It looks pretty darn good. I'm not sure that shade of green works with that hot pink.... maybe a little lighter green? Can't wait to see it finished.

Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks.
But of course, if you dig deeper, itís really how it works.
