Looking for Feedback on a new site

With the exception of the top navigation and side navigation I created this site from scratch. I created it with the idea of sharpening my PHP, HTML & CSS coding skills. Please have a look... I know some links are not live they just link to #. All feedback is greatly appreciated.

The footer area is too simple.

Change that !

Also the dropdown in top menu - change the font and the gray color bg.

what would you suggest for the footer?

I dunno try white on black background
OR
Add some colors (like the three banners that are already there - they look nice)
OR
add twitter and facebook updates there.

Stuff like that.

umm the design feels like empty thou the only thing that stands out are the header itself IE (Internet Explorer) looks ok when I check on it. Why not add a little bit of background and Ashish is right on the footer it really lacks design.
