A very old place gets a makeover - Feedback sought

This is a slightly different website than you might have seen before. It has recently gone through its first major redesign. It was abandoned for many years because real life and a career got in the way.

It went from something that I created myself {I am not a web designer} with tables back in 1998 to a Wordpress installation. I did not do most of the work {hired a nice Pakistani gentleman in Elance} to do it.

I know that it might be a little dull, and I would appreciate any feedback about changes to the design. I am not open to anything major like scrapping Wordpress, but anything that would improve its appeal would be welcomed.

The content is original and written by myself.

Looks nice, easy to read text, I would change the Google advertising at the top to suit the theme of the site better, the white on black sticks out too much.

I would use as the back ground color in the Google advertisement the the same color as your background in the website (a blue grey color) and use white text in the google add, the same as the Google search you are currently using, you can customize your Google advertisement in their settings page. I guess you already know what's lacking to your website-- a compelling design. Maybe you could change the color coz I find the gray color dull. And also, the logo. A better logo design will surely create a sense of identity and branding to your company.
