I am sick of my old logo, and since I'm reworking my whole site (Shovenose - once every three years is OK - once every three weeks is not! ) I thought I'd try to create a new one. I like the idea of using an eye shape as part of the logo, play on words (insite, insight) and so forth.

What does anyone think of these - any good or should I scrap and star over?

Yeah - I showed my daughter and she said the new ones looked like fish, not eyes...

I like the idea you have, but your drafts are really ambiguous. It looks like pac man and his friend eating a windows logo, not an eye.

    I would suggest

    1. Making it really simple, having an "eye" dot one of the "i"s. Of course, it would need to be a pretty eye, and not a creepy Sauron-eye.

    2. Just ignoring the play on words completely and use the picture of the horse running through a computer screen! Make it a unicorn! Kick a**!

The horse is supposed to be jumping out of the screen, and it is the logo for AlphaMare.ca, a site I am updating.

I think I may just stick to the old logo for now - I certainly have enough work to do to finish the site update without fiddling with logos.

Yes, I suggest that you should stick with your old logo because your 'new' logos look like a logo of a bank.

I would recommend starting over. I felt bad when I initially thought that because I rather build up peoples confidence but when you stated "any good or should I scrap and star over?" I felt it "OK" to say. The reason I say start over is because all 4 graphics look old and outdated, they don't look new or fresh and none of them flow together. It doesn't look like you are using Illustrator because the Stroke is choppy at best. So yes I would start over.

Look up eye logos on google to give you "eye"deas and inspiration.

Well, what I meant by start over was to keep the old one, and start over on something new. I'm not sure what you mean by "flow together" - if you could explain, it may help me figure something better out.

I found the eye graphic by searching some of the vector sites I use - but just now I clicked your link and checked out the Google image results. I have to say I don't like any of them so far. I don't want an actual eye - just the idea of one. The original logo is supposed to suggest a bunch of different-colored pixels flowing and swirling, and I wanted to keep that idea, while incorporating something extra.

I guess I'll keep trying, but for now I'll stick with the old one.

Oh, also, the stroke is choppy because they were done at 72dpi in Photoshop - these are just .jpg mock-ups.the final product would be done as a vector image in Illustrator.

Old logo is much more appealing. Looks more current, new ones feel like something out of 1992 (no offense).

I just made this logo for another person on the forum. I share this because this will help me to explain flow. This flows two different ways, first from left to right, and it is easy on the eyes. It also flows together with using the Blue on the circle and with the Soul text. Then I added the "Graphic & Web Design" text underneath to add balance since the logo is heavy to the left with the circle.
I usually make my logos first in Photoshop and then in Illy as well. I find it easy to work PS than Illy.
