So I'm more of a coder than a graphic design artist, but I would like to become better. I know html, css, php and mysql decently well, but that's not what I'm requesting a review on today. I have created 2 logos for review, I placed them both on my dev page. I would call myself a beginner graphic artist and probably still thinking too much in the box, please be harsh and mean and rude

ehhh.. i'm terrible at logos myself but I'm not a fan of the 1 to the left.. the 1 on the right isn't too too bad.

The first one is to plain text looking and nothing special to remember it by. It would be cool to use some negative space to form the A or something along with a different font The 2nd one just doesn't work for a Logo, but with that said nice concept though, it just doesn't work though.

Here is something I threw together:

Its rather simple to do, just add the C D text layer and give it enough spacing to allow for the A, then add an A text layer and in the layers panel hold Ctrl and click on the A which will highlight the A in the project window then select the C D layer and hit delete. Using the pen tool, pen tool the middle triangle and bottom of the A and then open a new layer right click in the project window and select fill path and then right click again and select Delete path.

Unless I am getting paid, I usually take a few minutes and throw together a quick easy idea to help people get started when designing their own logo. This logo only took a few minutes to make.

Here is the PSD file, I uploaded it to my site so it is safe. I made it in Photoshop CS5 but should be compatible with any PS. If you don't have PS, from what I have seen on google, GIMP (free graphic program similar to PS) should be able to open the PSD File.

It is smaller than I would normally make a logo, just because I was making quickly and so you might want to make it larger by starting over and trying to produce the same outcome. It's also good practice. But do what you want.

What do you think, I haven't picked a color scheme yet, so just chose blue.

I think you just need to find a different color maybe a dark gray for the "Ctrl Alt Designs" to offset colors. I realized I made a mistake by adding Delete to the Ctrl Alt Designs lol.. Looks like you conquered this negative space logo on your own. Good job!
