Ok, I finally got over my designer's block and got something looking half-way decent for this site.

    http://www.stevenmoseley.com/ifg/

Some of you will note that the site uses frames for the exterior. This is a necessity to have the flash background work with Netscape.

The scrolling interior is actually a div with overflow:auto. Notice how I got the curve and shadow to clip the scrolling content?

    I'm using SSI's for navigation/header/footer.

There is no content yet - only the design so far.

    Ratings and Comments appreciated!

Its great, but all I have to say is the flash needs a preload notice, I know this will put off people/confuse them

(I know its under constuction, just making sure you dont forget)

    Great work

It's plain, but effective. It does look nice, but the main.htm really could do with the actual text page increasing in width - you currently have a half width of logo, and a half width of the actual important text. I figure the important text should have more prominence, to make it look less "squeezed on".

Brian, That would make sense if this were a liquid layout, but it's not... not really, anyhow.

The truth is, with the text-area so narrow in height, making it any wider would make it seem disproportionate.

Do you think instead of doing it like this that I should smack the logo back on the side and center it like it was before?

I noticed the background moved when I viewed it in 1280 x 1024 resolution, but when I was in 800 x 600 resolution it wasn't as noticable.

    Over all it looks great!!!!

I like your new site a lot more than your previous version.

I think the background is wicked, but it won't work for anyone with flash - could you define an alternative image for people without flash
