    Hey everyone,
As a summer project, I'm making a general chemistry help website. I'm looking to improve my site's design. Any suggestions/criticisms are welcome. None of the links work yet, because I'm focusing on the layout and design right now.

I'm also wondering how the color scheme looks to others. I used:
Khaki - #F0E68C for the title and sidebar backgrounds
#C0B870 for the divider backgrounds, and hovering links
#787346 for the divider borders, and active links
and #F0F8FF for the main content area
I also used 3 gradient images for the bottom part

There are some problems with borders in IE, but as far as I know it looks the same on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Please post if there are other compatibility problems.

    Thanks,
    IndoleIndictment

I like the design a lot. Hope your site does well.
I particularly like the background images of the molecules.

Wow thanks a lot Fleet. Ironically the background is from deviantart and is a just a place-filler for now, but I plan on making my own that looks similar.

Also I've been updating the site a lot today, so things might be changing if anybody looks at it. I changed the links so that the hover and active links are slightly darker, and added a contact message with a mailto link at the bottom. I also re-validated the CSS.

Colors look okay to me. I'm not overly crazy about them, but then again chemistry always bored the crap out of me (no offense, dude...I feel that way about all the sciences) so I'm not really in your target market.

What do your fellow liquid explosion makers think? That's what ultimately matters.

Please change the font coz it's very 1990s. I love chemistry and it's not a boring subject, but (no offense) your website makes it a boring subject

Not a problem; though I do agree with Web Outsourcing Gateway; some of the look is a bit 90's.

What kind of font would look a little more modern? Could you possibly provide me with an example? I was looking for a font with a chemistry sort of look, over one that has a modern sort of look.

Could you possibly give some more constructive advice on how to make it less boring? I'm looking to for suggestions after all. What sort of features could I add to make it more appealing?

Hi sorry for the late reply, I'm kinda busy lately. I suggest that you use fonts from Sans Serif or Monospaced family. Here, you can choose cool fonts on this site. http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fontface

However, this one might fit to your website http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/resagnicto

Try adding an image slider on the top page of your website. Also, give your visitors an easy-access to the inner pages of your website. Perhaps, drop-down on the navigation bar could help. Since it's chemistry put some moving images.

That's all I could suggest as of now coz your website is not working.
