Hi all, trying to get some constructive criticisms on a web page that is currently being worked on.

On the picture page, I am using placeholders.

Specifically, how is the color scheme I am currently using?

Also how does the logo I made look? I am hearing mixed opinions about it and I am thinking about just paying the $$ to a site like

for a custom logo (never did that before).

Any ideas on how I can make the site more attractive would be most appreciated. It is a site to breed Bearded Dragons (lizards but not green lizards! much more attractive colors)

First of all, i wouldn't pay that much for a logo, particularly if you're only using it online. Go onto and you can probably find someone to do the job for you at about half the cost...and give you a better output.

Second, I'm not crazy about your color scheme (it's too dark), but whatever you revise it to would be dependent on what you do with the logo. I'm not big on the logo either, just because only the text would reproduce the same offline (the picture wouldn't) and the font is way too big. I also would suggest you go more green/yellow with your logo just because most lizards tend to be green/yellow/brown/earth tone (at least the ones I've seen, although most of my reptile-handling experience relates to pythons, since a friend of my wife's has them...I think they're Burmese).
If I've helped you out in any way, please pay it forward. My wife and I are walking for Autism Speaks. Please donate, and thanks.

Hey Muligan, first off welcome to the forum and community. You really need a logo that you can build your websites colors around to help everything to flow/blend together. What you currently have doesn't really brand you or give you a memorable identity that you could use for a long time.
I would highly recommend that you have someone design you a logo. I am not to sure of the website that you are considering. TheGame's reference to Odesk I think would produce you better bang for your buck but always be weary about the "cheaper" price. Read this article about how much a logo should cost.

If you want a variety of logo designs created just for you to choose from then I would recommend but it looks like the starting price is $299.

Last but not least, I also design logos for clients and would be willing to design you one for $175 which you wouldn't have to pay until you were completely satisfied with the logo. You can see some of my work here if you were interested. Feel free to private message me if you would like me to design something for you.
