As you claim it's your design and have put your copyright on it.

Even worse as your a web designer.

I've learnt my lesson on this - everyones been naughy in the past.

    Now you'll have to.

    busted I'm afraid.

Look, we get people here who use templates and themes they have downloaded or purchased. We don't mind, if they say so and ask for reviews on changes they have made to customize the site.

But to claim copyright and say it's your own work? That's cheating, and we tend to come down pretty hard on those who do it, because it cheapens the whole industry.

Speaking as someone who has invested time and effort in learning to code and developing my skills, I really resent those who take other people's work and claim it as their own.

If you want to call yourself a designer we can't stop you. But we'll all know the truth.

Josh, don't be so hard on yourself.

The template site states "Feel free to use this template for your business, but you cannot resell it as a template - and the screen shot of the image says "copyright - type in your name here "

So don't think you've broken any laws, its fine. What gets peoples backs up is claiming the design is your own, when it isn't.

many years ago I was in your position, I knew enough about HTML and CSS that I could edit a template to a good standard, but what you need to start doing is making the designs yourself.

If your not a good designer then look into developing.

Personally I think if you can edit a template and understand whats happening then thats the first step, but you will always be limited.

Just my 5 cents, but you don't have to stop web designing just because of this. If you enjoy it - get better and produce your own stuff. Even if its low quaility at first you can always build on it.

    Hope that helps
