    Hey guys,
I recently did this site for a client. As mentioned previously, I am not the best designer around (no kidding, sherlock). Anyway, just want to get your take on the design, speed and such.

    All feedback appreciated.\

    Thanx
    H.R.H.

Ooooooohhhh you're gonna get yourself in so much trouble. You're rocking the .NET code on here, and there are some hardcore PHPers in here that won't be too happy with that (don't worry...I ain't one of 'em). Not really sure why you're using the AJAX Toolkit when you've got jQuery in there, but I'm guessing there's some reason that's not immediately obvious.

The layout...I'm not a woman, so I probably shouldn't really say much, but I guess my big problem is that it doesn't feel "spa-like". It should look something like this, with nice relaxing images of water and leaves and things, and the overused Georgia font, and stuff like that. I don't like to make this comparison, but it kind of reminds me of one of the escorts you'd find on terb.ca...you've got the nearly naked chick, a relatively simple skin, and not much else.

Like I said, though, I've only been in spas a couple of times...both of which were attached to gyms, so my approach was way different. I'd go work out for an hour, then shower quickly, then hit the hot tub, then do a cold plunge for the maximum two minutes, then sauna, then cold plunge, then steam room, then cold plunge...basically, I'd try to relax by pushing myself to temperature extremes in the most bizarrely badass way possible. So I probably didn't quite get the concept of the spa.

Thanx for the comments. The site is designed exactly as the client wanted it. So that is not the main issue here. I wanted your general take on the site.

Ah!, yes, .Net. Hey I have no problem with PHP, just that it's a script rather than code that can be compiled. I am old school (started in I.T. back in 1979), so if it does not compile....

    Thanx

Hey, I'm with you, bro. I'd much rather draw from compiled code any day of the week...especially when it's my compiled code. I'm just saying you'll find we're in the vast minority, that's all.

One thing I'd do is lose the hit counter. Use Google Analytics instead. it's free, and keeps the stats private.

Seems to respond pretty quickly, and if the client and more importantly the client's customers like it, that's all that counts.
