Welcome to the boards Monica. You're off to a good start, but here are a few comments:
    1. The homepage has no information on it. The homepage is the only page people are guaranteed to see if they visit your site. Put some content on there that makes me want to click into your site.
    2. The red text in your portfolio (websites, print ads, photographs) is hard to read. I try to avoid dark text on dark backgrounds.
    3. I'm not a fan of inverted text either, the white text on a black bg in your resume is hard to read. You may want to consider a background color other than black.
    4. The top of the page looks empty. A nice graphical banner would improve the look of the site.
That's my 2 cents, nice site overall, and welcome to WDF.

I like it but there are things which could be done better like spluf said.

1 - your content is just there floating in the black nothing. maybe you could add somesort of border round it ?

2 - the links at the bottom are pointless because you've got them on the left already. They look too simple too..

3 - resume opens on a new page when your on the first page and on all the other pages its on the same page

Appart from those points just spruce it up and make it look smart insted of dark and dull. Your supposed to be advertising your great colour full webdesign skills. Dark represents boring if you ask me so that's the last colour i'd pick..

    and welcome

    Thank you

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to try and spruce it up. I really liked the commment about adding to the top of the page, it does look pretty lost. Thanks for the update on the resume pop up. I'll fix that too.
