    Hey there,

This is my first post in these forums, and would like your feedback on a website I've been working on. I've been designing on an amateur level since frames were a big thing, but recently, I've decided to try my hand at a more professional level. It's lead to a bit of a humble time, as designing for a client and designing for a friend are two completely different beasts.

The website is for a group that does two fundraising events per year, and because of that, styling and some images automatically change based on the time of year. There's also quite a bit of database tracking, which I feel is staring to border on cluttered, but I've tried to maintain a bit of a balance.

The design itself looks really generic.

When I say generic, I mean, it looks like a MS paint drawing.
    - beveled boxes
    - flat colors
    - times new roman font
    - lots of gray

It would also help if you described your organization at the front of the website. I'm fairly familiar with game myself, but I don't even know what "masocore" means. And likely, some of the people visiting your site won't know either.

I think he might have meant "massacre", although even for a charity promoting gaming that's kind of a stretch.

It's an interesting charity idea, but as Ron said you're probably going to want to look more at other fonts. Here are a whole bunch for free you can use. I don't know if you'll need to do much else if you change the font to something here. (I'd go with Droid Sans or something).

The other thing that doesn't make sense is...how do a bunch of guys playing Halo or CoD contribute to charity? I'm sure there's a connection, but you need to explain it a lot more clearly than you do. It's incredibly vague.
If I've helped you out in any way, please pay it forward. My wife and I are walking for Autism Speaks. Please donate, and thanks.

Tanks for the feedback, guys. Unfortunately, I don't really have any say in the content itself. I pretty much just build the theme and manage the php/mysql programming.

I do agree the font should be changed. I think I just got too deep into the minutia, that I completely spaced on that. As for the MS paint feel, it is meant to look like something out of an 8-bit era, as it's currently promoting the "toughest of the platformers." I know that doesn't come across very well, but like I said, I'm not in charge of content management.
