    Graymar Drafting

Here is my newest creation. I know it is pretty plain and simple; I created it for a customer who is in his 60's and could careless about the sparkles of a modern website. He wanted me to use scanned photographs for his gallery but I talked him out of it as I felt they would look bad. '

I know I need to optimize (responsive) this site along with every other site I have ever made, but I am not to clear on how to do it. I have looked into it but never moved forward with it and every time I post a new site for review I always get told to do so. I would like to take the time to learn now so if you have a good resource that will help me over this hill please let me know.

Nice clean layout, workmanlike, no-frills - yet attractive.

You'd have to lose the Flash gallery for starters. Flash and Android and Apple don't play nicely together. You could easily do that with a lightbox, although I'm not sure whether or not there's a responsive one.

I wouldn't worry about making this responsive initially, though. You have to figure the guy's in his 60s, which means he probably doesn't need a lot of business, and he's not likely to expand his business to the point where he'd want to hire people. If you can get a good enough desktop site built fro the guy, he may get what he needs from that and be happy. Yes, I realize that someone's going to put forth a generic every site needs to be responsive argument, but not every site does. It's a site-specific thing, and I would suggest in this specific set of circumstances that you probably don't need to worry about it.

My issue with the site is that the layout is...well, grey. I get that the guy's name is Graymar, but it's just kind of depressing. I'd use a green, a blue, even red as an accent color, but right now I'm just not feeling it the way it is. I usually don't comment on color because it's a very subjective thing, but I felt I had to here.

I might change the font as well. Go with something from the Google Fonts library. There are lots of things there you can use.

I agree with you Game about responsive sites being site specific and a site like this might not need it. I know I just need to learn to do it though.... I was playing around with the colors and really liked the Blues and greens but figured it would be safe to go with the color scheme I chose to be safe. I see what you are saying though.

I will look through some of the google fonts and see about possibly changing them up.

Thank you both for your comments.
