New logo for my new website, e6x.com!

I drew it up in Flash, which is really nice for doing things like resizeing and tinting.

Let me know what you think. I thought it came out pretty good concidering I have no idea how to make real 3d objects

There are 3 versions, the last one is my favorite.

I like the first one the best, because it's most ledgible (although I'm not sure if I would have known what it said had I not been told). The blue on black is cool though too.

Don't wory about legibility guys. This is going to be displayed on my site AFTER people are there. Heck, it's not going to be the only place that has my site name either. I am still working on an adbanner type version.

I like the blue on black, followed by the first one. If you are displaying it in an area of the site where it doesn't have to be legible then I say go for it! If it was to be the main header or used as a prominent logo (business cards etc) I would stray away from it.

Also, if you could please comment on :

    1) Whether it is a good concept
    2) Whether it is a good implimentation

I never concidered myself great artist by any means, but I try. I might try getting some of the graphics done for me in exchange for turtle dollars/real dollars/hosting once the entire site is up and running. Right now though I'm more worried about a layout and color scheme, which will dictate which color logo I will need.

    Thanks

What do you plan on using it for?

As a graphic it looks sweet, but if it were to be used as the main logo I think it would be a bad choice as it is not immediately clear as to what the text is.

I was thinking of mabey using it as a small icon type thing in the nav bar, and prehaps as a watermark on bussiness cards and other documents. It might also go in a top banner. I was also wanting and intro video in flash if I ever learn how to do really good Flash 3d (doubt it but hey, who knows). I was also thinking of a similair, 2d concept for about the same thing.

In relation to the intro movie using flash, it could work really well. You would have to ensure that at some point the logo is directly facing the viewer to ensure it can be clearly read.

As a placeholder in the menu and as a watermark I think it would work pretty well. When using it as a watermark you may need to change the color of the logo to ensure the text going over the top of the logo (or near the logo) can still be read easily.
