    Band Website

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum. I'm an intermediate level web developer and I'd like to start taking my design skills to the next level. I'm making a site for a friends band, and I was hoping you guys could give me some feedback on it.

    Hi from Eddie P!

I'm also new to this forum.

I like the picture in page body. The picture in the header is scary! Are you trying to get folks to book your band or frighten them off?

The page is pretty much OK except for this I think...

Thanks for the input! To clarify, the photo banner is just a placeholder; that's not the band. The image below is taken from the bands last album cover.

Usually the evaluation process works best on a finished site since it has...y'know, content and stuff. Real content. If it's done properly that is.

With that said, I don't mind the layout. It's simple, it's clean, and the code is clean as well.

    A few things:

    1) You probably want a mobile-friendly layout. I know it's a band, but if they're playing tour dates and want to plug their .com, you'll want to make sure people will put the site into their cell phones after they look at it the first time.

    2) A bit of future-thinking on my part, but if you're going to go down the social media route, lead with Google+. There is something of a correlation between Google+ and Google search results (search for Google Authorship markup to get an idea) and I'm personally of the belief that Facebook is about to take a nosedive in relative terms to G+.
If I've helped you out in any way, please pay it forward. My wife and I are walking for Autism Speaks. Please donate, and thanks.

If someone helped you out, be sure to "Like" their post and/or help them in kind. The "Like" link is on the bottom right of each post, beside the "Share" link.
