Not sure about the design of my website...

    Hello there,

I have created the website [EDIT: moved to URL box by TheGAME1264] and am not sure about the design.

    Any suggestions or comments?

    Thanks in advance,

    Stéphan

PS : French is my mother tongue... any remarks related to grammar or spelling mistakes are more zen welcome!

The splash page has to go. There are people on this forum who weren't alive when splash pages stopped being used. The blue is just a bit too light, which makes it hard to read against the white. The header is way too large, so most of the content lies off-screen.

The big, glaring problem, though is that even with the splash page, I didn't have any idea what the site was for until I just figured it out, which will turn away a lot of visitors.

I knew right away myself, but that's because I remember The Million Pixel Homepage. It was a silly idea 10 years ago and it's a silly idea now. You want people to pay to place an ad in a block with other ads that do nothing but blend together in an indistinguishable mess.

This falls under the "scrap the project unless it's a learning experience" category.

Content is part of design. You design around your content.

When content has a fundamental flaw, design can't fix that no matter what you do. This is fundamentally flawed. To use an old adage, when you put lipstick on a pig it's still a pig.
