    Author Website Redesign

    Hello,

I have recently redesigned the website for my dad, who is an author.
It's not completely finished yet, so feedback is very helpful

Please let me know what you think!

Good design and a nice collection of books there, It would be great if you could add a special mouseover hover effect of the planet buttons that you are using, e.g.. when you move the mouse over, they get bigger or change colour. Or you could even use something like "opacity:0.9" in the hover css code to lighten it up a little to give it an effect.

I would also add links to where you can buy the books from, e.g. amazon etc.

    Cheers

Interesting and unique look and feel, but the site itself has a serious structural flaw. Let me use an example to illustrate that flaw to you: your dad wants to promote his Third Eye of Nowhere book. He wants to send someone the link to that book from the website. How does he do that? Or to put it another way, how would others link to interior content of the website and share it with others? That's not possible, and with content such as your father's it will serve him well to share it.

That would be the place you want to focus...navigation. It's awkward and relies excessively on Javascript, which creates both user (above) and potentially search (crawling) issues.

Thanks for your input! I' ll be sure to add some effects on the planets. I'm currently in the process of integrating the site with paypal so once that's finished I'll have purchase links

    Thegame-

Thank you for your post. That was something I was thinking about when I decided to make the site all on one page. Originally I was going to make static separate pages for people without JavaScript turned on. I may end up doing that again for the normal site and use variables in the URL to access interior content from referrals.

If you know of any better ways or have any advice for fixing this issue, please let me know
