    Please review new website design

These mockups are for a website selling custom logos. Please let me know what you think. What are the things that you did or did not like about each? Ultimately, which one you like more? Why? Thank you!

I'll try to save you the shredding. Posting image-based mock-ups is a bit frowned upon. Your code is as important if not more-so than what it looks like in an image file. Remember design isn't just about what the thing looks like, it's how it works (paraphrasing Steve Jobs).

I'm actually in a good mood today since I got out, got some sun with my kids, and showed what a good dad I am. So I'm going to do what a good dad would do and warn a younger person of a bad idea.

Here's the thing, young're obviously building this website either to resell logo templates or to "affiliate market" them. You don't have 800+ satisfied clients, and you're not working for someone that does. The logos on the second template are a dead giveaway.

You don't want to go further down the road with this website idea. Here's why:

    1) It's unoriginal.
    2) You won't have a unique selling proposition since it is unoriginal.
    3) The road you're on is filled with people trying the same sort of thing and failing every single time, because you're reselling things others are reselling in a race to the bottom. You cannot win the game you're trying to play.
If I've helped you out in any way, please pay it forward. My wife and I are walking for Autism Speaks. Please donate, and thanks.

If someone helped you out, be sure to "Like" their post and/or help them in kind. The "Like" link is on the bottom right of each post, beside the "Share" link.
