Please review my first portfolio design

Hello. I think I've been a member of this website for awhile now, I'm not sure if I ever posted anything though. Anywho, I'm trying to design my first ever portfolio and would like a honest critique of it. I'm trying to critique it unbiased, but I'm probably too hard on myself to begin with.

Some things that I found that I could use some opinions on:
    • The background of the main content area may change, I'm not sure yet.
    • I feel like my design is flat and boring.
    • Overall color scheme

I appreciate any and all input. Be has harsh as possible. Thanks.

Edit: Forgot to mention, only the About and Contact is what I'm considering done at the moment. Also the contact form does not have error handling yet, but does work. It's disabled at the moment though.

Hit us back when the rest is complete. Not trying to be an ***, but content is as important as design. The UI is pretty good, but without the content, a review is a waste of time.

What Ron said. That, and if you put content in it, it may help you figure out what's bugging you with your layout.

Said it was a portfolio site, which the main purpose of the website is to showcase your work.
I don't see any work been showcased here.
