You are right, it looks very outdated.

The color choices are not very good. Take a step back and consider what other sites are doing. Im on my phone so im unsure if you used and CSS but you did not mention it and it does not look like you have used it. Read up and do some more learning on HTML/CSS. You can go to code academy and complete their tutorial rather quickly and would help you better grasp what you are capable of doing.

37 lines of HTML.... Not a whole lot there to critique to be honest. The Color selection like Vapr mentioned are pretty bad. You did use some CSS so that is good! Did you follow a web design tutorial and this was the result?? If so, now it just needs you/your personality. Also, your "menu" buttons are too big and where they are placed, they looked like part of the title. When I first saw them I didn't even think "menu". Anyways, it's a start, now it just needs life. Keep at it and keep on learning.

Then i think you need to spend some time studying the layout of other sites. Your site is lacking in the design department
