Give me your brutally honest opinion about this portfolio site I just made

    Site: mattwilliams85.github.io

Me: Junior Front-End developer, 1.5 years of experience. (not a web-designer)

Any critiques or comments welcome, I’m still working on the mobile/tablet version but otherwise this is the final draft.

    Thanks!

I just see a static page without any links... Is it finished?

Ha ya, sorry that's one of the issue's I need to fix form a UX standpoint. the little iceberg is clickable. It shakes after a couple seconds of inactivity.

Oh, that is a big problem that... Clickable elements should be obviously clickable, otherwise it is a UX disaster. I honestly missed it, even though I noticed that the iceberg moves!

I honestly feel like I backed myself into a corner trying to design a non-traditional site (aka non-scrolling), so I'm going to have to rethink how the navigation works. Otherwise what did you think of the rest now that you've seen it?

It is often the case that trying to be not traditional hurts user experience a lot. You need to do a lot of user testing to create something outside the box that actually works well. The biggest problem is navigation, let's say I go to "Connect", how to I go back? I guessed correctly that clicking on the iceberg works as a link back, however, making users guess goes against the fundamental usability principles, also, that iceberg looks like part of the background there. I recommend having some element of traditional navigation - e.g. logo at the top left as the home link.
